PROVENANCE

Transported by a natural ecosystem, sand is a mixture that comes from all parts of the world. In its’ form, all material is connected through all sorts of matter and substances.

I have started the Provenance project as a photographic adventure that explores the idea of coexistence. It follows a prism that represents life and human created infrastructure. A refraction, that presents reality and angles in which production and people have used Earth’s materials to construct and re-form structural planning. In performance, this prism is left in different environmental conditions in order to represent the complex relationship that people have with natural materials. The prism surveys as a creation from the human world and the un-belonging of it in the natural world. Provenance, is the idea of human usage and consumption but also the life that people share with existing materials and the abilities to bend and change natural resources.
