Si/O2

All materials have an origin. Transported by ocean waves and wind. Sand is a departure of minerals that derive from the coast. In its’ defiance, all life is connected through matter.

I have started the Si & O2 project as a photographic adventure that explores the idea of coexistence. It follows an object of refraction that represents life and human created infrastructure. Through production, people have used Earth’s materials to construct and re-form structural planning. In performance, a prism is left in different environmental conditions in order to represent the complex relationship that people have with natural materials. The prism surveys as creations from the human world and the un-belonging of it in the natural world. Si & O2 aims to speculate human usage but also the life that we share with the universe.
